A genuine piece of Moon Rock! It is a good sized fragment of the NWA 11273 Lunar Meteorite. The specimen is supplied in a display box with information about the meteorite on the rear. The Lunar Meteorite fragment will weigh between 0.1 and 0.2 grams.
A lunar meteorite is a rock that formed on the Moon and was ejected by the impact of an asteroid or comet before finally landing on Earth. This piece of Moon Rock is NWA 11273 which landed in North West Africa. Lots of pieces were recovered in 2017 by nomads. It has been analysed by Scientists and has been classified as a Lunar Feldspathic Breccia. Lunar Meteorites consist of around 0.75% of all known meteorites so are very rare indeed!
