Historic Homestead L5 Chondrite Meteorite Individual weighing 2.6g With Monnig Number & Label.  Comes with provenance from Mike Bandli (Historic Meteorites) and Wards Natural Sciences and comes with Monnig’s card, Wards Sciences card, Mike’s card along with my own ID card. The specimen has Monnig painted number of M-54.8 and is listed in the 1996 Monnig Meteoite Catalogue (see photo)

At 2.6 grams, this is one of the smallest known individuals of Homestead, a fall that is well-known for producing many large, multi-kilo stones. Text excerpt shows this specimen itemized in The Oscar E. Monnig Meteorite Collection catalog (Ehlmann, 1996). Homestead fell 12th February 1875 with a TKW of 227kg.

To my knowledge the only other small-ish complete stone that was ever sold was Robert Haag’s and it was around 100 grams.  That was considered small!
