Phillipinite Tektite – Made from a large Meteorite impact on Earth (XL size)

A Phillipinite Tektite Specimen from the Phillipines The Tektite specimen will weigh between 40 and 60 grams. This is a good size to handle and they are very tactile so you can touch and hold your tektite whilst picturing the huge impact event that created it! 🙂

Tektites are naturally occurring glass droplets formed by the melting and ballistic ejection of silica rich rock by large asteroidal or cometary impacts. Tektites are wholly terrestrial in origin.
The terrestrial rock melted during the impact event is ejected into space and rains back down on the Earth minutes later.

Specimen will be supplied loose along with a colour Postcard sized card with info about Tektites. (Note that photos show example specimens and the specimen sent will be similar but not identical)

Ideal as a present, an ‘Out of this world’ gift or stocking filler. 🙂
