Writeup![]() | Writeup from MB 106: Northwest Africa 11538 (NWA 11538) (Northwest Africa) Purchased: 2017 Classification: Ordinary chondrite (LL3) Physical characteristics: Brownish stone. Cut surface reveals well defined, closely packed chondrules. A 5 mm fine-grained dark clast is visible. Petrography: (J. Gattacceca, H. Pourkhorsandi, CEREGE) Unequilibrated ordinary chondrite. Chondrule mesostasis is devitrified. Olivines are zoned. Geochemistry: Olivine Fa7.6±7.1, range 1.0-16.9, PMD 91% (N=5), Cr2O3 in ferroan olivine 0.14±0.10 wt% (N=3). Orthopyroxene Fs18.1±8.2Wo1.0±0.2 (N=3). Classification: LL3 Specimens: Type specimen at CEREGE. Main mass with Kuntz. | ||||||||||||||||||||||||
