The fall of the Peekskill meteorite was recorded by spectators watching Friday night football, allowing scientists to trace the path of the meteorite from the asteroid belt. The 12.2 kg (27 lb) meteorite fell onto the trunk of a red Chevy Malibu car. A very famous and historic meteorite fall.
