The Middlesbrough Meteorite by Tom Hughes – Limited Edition Prints
£60.00 – £70.00
A fantastic study by Tom Hughes of this stunning example of an oriented meteorite. The Middlesbrough meteorite fell on 14th March, 1881 at the railway siding ‘Pennyman’ Siding’ and was witnessed to fall by workmen who were only a few yards away.
These are limited edition prints signed and numbered by Tom from an edition of 30. They are printed on acid free 300gsm 100% cotton rag paper. The original is a classically styled scientific illustration in Graphite. The tonal range extends from 9H to 2B – creating a distinctly soft, delicate image with subtle fine details. This allows such features as individual flow lines to be a lot more apparent than that which could be achieved in a true colour representation.
Prints are available mounted (on acid free card mount board in off white colour and supplied in archival cellophane sleeve) or un mounted. Un mounted prints are 11 3/4 by 16 1/2 inches and when mounted they are 16 by 20 inches (Including mount).
Note – Mounted prints can only be posted to the UK, all orders from outside the UK will be un mounted only to avoid any damage in transit
